A good example of efficient technologies has been applied at a project for building a bridge crossing over the Ob River along Ippodromskaya ul. in Novosibirsk.
On 26 March 2021, bridge erection work started on the left bank of the Ob River. The construction team applied an incremental launching method by pushing the bridge structure outward in cycles using abutments. The incremental launch technology implies longitudinal pushing of a fully or partially assembled bridge superstructure along the bridge centre line using a rolling-up or pulling device.
This type of installation has certain advantages and helps to reduce the construction timeline by deploying the bridge superstructure simultaneously with erecting abutments.
