Tourist infrastructure development of the four seasons tourist and recreational resort Arkhyz

Until March 2027, JSC MC Arkhyz plans to fulfill an investment project to develop a ski resort for the four seasons tourist and recreational resort Arkhyz on the territory of a special economic zone established in Zelenchuksky municipal district of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic.

The ski infrastructure is planned to be the following:
  • Number of trails to be put into operation: 31.4 kilometres.
  • Total area of trails: 122 hectares.
  • Total trails capacity: 43,606 people/hour.

The project is structured within the framework of the decrees of the Government of the Russian Federation No.833 ‘On the creation of a tourist cluster in the North Caucasus Federal District, Krasnodar region and the Republic of Adygea' dated 14 October 2010 and No.1195 ‘On special economic zones in the North Caucasus Federal District' dated 29 December 2011, the decree of the Government of the Russian Federation dated 20 September 2019 on the strategy of tourism development in the Russian Federation until 2035.

The implementation of the Arkhyz project is designed to increase the attractiveness of the ski resort for the target audience, as well as to attract more inexperienced skiers.

Under the project activities, GREEN team conducted a financial and technical audit of the project, including review of legal, planning and building permits and design documents, assessed construction schedule and funds sufficiency budgeted for the project. The key risks of project implementation were identified with regard to the applied technological solutions.
